Rasmus Lagerberg Quartet: East AND West

In the end of May 2025, the debut album of Rasmus Lagerberg Quartet - East and West was released on Smeik.

Rasmus Vik Lagerberg is a Norwegian jazz vibraphonist coming from the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Alongside his band Rasmus Lagerberg Quartet consisting of Håkon Mjåset Johansen on drums, Magne Thormodsæter on bass and Aksel Røed on saxophone he’s releasing his debut album «East and West» the 30th of May 2025!

The quartet plays compositions written and arranged by Lagerberg with a style of music that can be described as energetic and melodic, with emphasis on interplay and rhythmic exploration. The music of East and West is a representation of Lagerberg’s personal development as a musician in Bergen the last few years, and is inspired by post-bop jazz from the 60’s and the modern acoustic jazz scene both in Norway and the US.
